‘Leaves’ was composed by Ben&Ben known as, The Benjamin brothers. They are folk pop/pop rock band in Philippines. One of the most popular acts nationally, it is ranked as the number one most streamed filipino artists on spotify for two years straight in 2020 and 2021.They had won several awards, including multiple Awit awards, Myx awards and Wish awards.

Among their songs, ‘Leaves’ is one of my favorites. They showed to a lot of people the importance of forgiving. Not only in our romantic relationship but in all kind of relationship that exist on our life. There are phrases in this song that I really admire of how strong its impact. It always reminds me to be hopeful, forgiving and that there is always a new beginning especially when we start forgivng. We may not have the ability to undo everything that caused us to pain, but we do have the ability to forgive and soften our hearts again.

Often times, we believed that we will never get over with our frustrations, and that holding grudges will make the other person miserable. But the truth is, we make ourselves miserable by holding onto those things. This song also taught me that time ultimately heal our pains and that everything will put into their places and right time.

Time heal if not, maybe, our pains will heal at its time.
